Iran metal industry set to grow

TEHRAN – The deputy director of Iranian Mines and Mining Industries Development and Renovation Organization (IMIDRO) announced here on Sunday that the steel production capacity of the country will exceed 15 million tons by the end of the current Iranian calendar year (March 20, 2009).

According to IRINN, Ali Palizdar said that the country will see a rise in its steel output capacity by the end of the next calendar year (March 2010) and it will hit 29 million tons.
“By the end of the current year Iran’s aluminum production capacity will touch 486,000 tons and the output will surpass 250,000 tons in this period,” he added.
