Aliabadi becomes Iranian NOC president

TEHRAN -- Iran’s head of Physical Education Organization (PEO) Mohammad Aliabadi has been named as the president of the National Olympic Committee (NOC) on Tuesday. In the General Assembly elections held in Iran’s Olympic Academy, Aliabadi won the seat by 55 votes out of 66.

In the session, Bahram Afsharzadeh, head of Iran’s Weightlifting Federation, has been elected as NOC secretary-general. He has won by 50 votes from 65
