TEHRAN - The office of Grand Ayatollah Nasir Makarim-Shirazi has been opened in London, Mehr news agency reported on Wednesday.

Makarim Shirazi is a Marja’ Taqlid (a Shia cleric who is regarded as a source of emulation).
The office was inaugurated on November 30 in London in response to some Muslim’s request residing in Britain.
The move is welcomed by many Muslims living in Britain.
The office is planned to handle the cultural and religious affaires and won’t deal with political issues.
Muslims from all cities in Britain can contact the office to ask their religious questions.
Some other offices are going to be established in other countries such as India and Turkey to familiarize Muslims with Islamic principles
