TEHRAN -- Iranian Majlis Speaker Ali Larijani said here on Tuesday that some countries take a “tactical approach” toward the Palestine issue.

“Currently, different views are expressed in the region. In addition, there are two approaches so that some take a tactical approach toward the issue whereas some views are closer to reality,” he told reporters on the eve of the Tehran conference on Palestine.
Larijani added that the Palestine issue is a multi-faceted problem.
“Now, on the global and regional scenes, there are sensitivities to the Palestine issue and the crimes of the Zionist regime. Also, there are efforts to reconstruct Gaza and resolve the Palestine issue.”
Asked if Egyptian officials would be attending the conference, Larijani said that Iran has invited all Islamic countries.
Twenty parliament speakers from Muslim and non-Muslim countries are coming to Tehran for the Supporting the Palestinian People conference, which opens today.
The two-day international conference is being held to condemn the Zionist regime for committing war crimes during the Gaza war and to call for the prosecution of Israeli war criminals.
Israel’s 22-day assault on Gaza left over 1,300 Palestinians dead and destroyed or damaged thousands of buildings across the coastal enclave. Many countries and human rights organizations have called for the establishment of an international tribunal to try Israeli officials for war crimes.
Reconstruction efforts and the promotion of unity among Palestinian groups are some of the issues that will be discussed during the conference
