IOC president: Iran has potential for progress

LAUSANNE, Switzerland - Jacques Rogge, the president of the International Olympic Committee (IOC), said on Monday that Iran has plenty of potential for progress in the Olympic Games.
Rogge told Mohammad Aliabadi, the president of Iran’s National Olympic Committee (NOC), in a meeting held at IOC based in Lausanne.“Iran has a high-level position in the Olympics. Iranian civilization is in accordance with spirit of Olympism. IOC will support Iran to achieve more success,” said Rogge.
Having praised Taekwondo player Hadi Saei and free-style wrestler Morad Mohammadi, who won gold and bronze in Beijing, the IOC president added, “Without a doubt, the Iranians have potential to achieve more and I am sure they can show a better performance in the next Olympics.”
IOC is ready to hold educational classes in Iran to promote the country’s sports level, Rogge concluded
