TEHRAN – Persepolis coach Nelo Vingada believes his team had a good start in the first half of the Asian Champions League, but they failed to continue their dominance in the second half.

Speaking at the post-match news conference after a 3-1 victory over Al-Sharjah, the Portuguese added, “After a disappointing loss against Moghavemat Sepasi in the Iran Professional League, a boy who had a brain tumor came to the Persepolis’ training session and I promised him and his father we will win all the matches for the sake of him and the rest of the fans. Now, I present this victory to him and wish him all the best.”
“We had a good performance in the first half. Our players did not have enough motivation after the interval to continue their dominance. We had a selfish performance in the second half while Al Sharjah put on a better show. Thanks to all the players for their efforts,” Vingada concluded.
Persepolis is scheduled to play Saudi Arabia’s Al-Shabab in Group B on March 17 in an away match
