Finnish, Indian, South African, Philippine ambassadors meet Mottaki

TEHRAN – The Finnish, Indian, South African and Philippine ambassadors to Tehran on Sunday met separately with Iranian Foreign Minister Manouchehr Mottaki.
During his meeting with Mottaki in Tehran, Finish Ambassador Heikki Puurunen submitted a letter from his country’s foreign minister to the Iranian foreign minister.Mottaki said Iran and Finland have enjoyed “relations based on logic”.
Foreign minister expressed hope that the European Union will regain its “independent” role on the international scene.
He also said given that there are new realities in the world, U.S. officials should change their aggressive unilateral policies in practice.
Iran and India have always shouldered great responsibilities
In a meeting with India’s newly appointed ambassador to Tehran Sanjay Singh, Mottaki said the two countries’ relations are deep rooted and that Iran and India have always shouldered great responsibilities.
Ties between the two nations date back to the era of the Silk Road, Mottaki stated.
Mottaki blamed hegemonic powers for the growth of narcotics smuggling and the emergence of extremism and terrorism in Afghanistan which have affected the entire region.
The new Indian ambassador submitted a copy of his credentials to Mottaki.
Iran, South Africa enjoy friendly ties
In a meeting with new Ambassador of South Africa to Iran, Saleh Ebrahim Mohammad, Mottaki stated that Tehran and Pretoria enjoy friendly relations.
Iran’s opposition to the previous Apartheid regime in South Africa was inspired by the lofty ideals of the two nations against racism.
Ebrahim Mohammad said that the Islamic Revolution has always been respected in his country and that the Iranian people’s opposition to racism has been appreciated by the South African people.
Mottaki calls for expansion of relations with the Philippines
In his meeting with Philippine Ambassador to Iran Generoso Senga, Mottaki called for the expansion of relations between the two countries in energy, technology, science and cultural spheres.
The newly appointed ambassador submitted a copy of his credentials to Mottaki.
Senga said Iran and the Philippines enjoy amicable relations and that Manila is determined to expand its relations with Tehran
