Afghan speaker meets senior Iranian MP

TEHRAN (IRNA) – Visiting speaker of Afghanistan’s House of Representatives Yunus Qanuni discussed major bilateral, regional and international issues in a meeting with head of Iran’s Majlis Cultural Committee Gholam-Ali Haddad-Adel on Wednesday.

Qanuni arrived here on Tuesday to discuss issues of mutual interests with senior Iranian officials.
Haddad-Adel told the Afghan MP that Iran was carefully following up Afghanistan’s developments.
“Iran gives great importance to Afghanistan’s independence as well as preserving its national unity, stability, security and public prosperity,” said the Iranian official.
Referring to the massive breakthroughs of Iranian scientists and experts in various scientific and technical fields, Haddad-Adel voiced Teheran’s readiness to share its developments with other Muslim states, Afghanistan in Particular.
Meanwhile, the Afghan MP hailed Iran’s support for the people of Afghanistan during the past three decades stressing that the government and people of Afghanistan would never forget Tehran’s support and cooperation.
Qanuni also briefed Haddad-Adel on the latest developments in Afghanistan and called for bilateral cooperation in scientific, educational, research and academic fields.
