TEHRAN – Majlis Speaker Ali Larijani stated that proper procedures should be adopted for campaign against terrorism.

“Campaign against terrorism through military presence in the region and throughout the globe will not have a clear result,” he said in a meeting with Omani Foreign Minister Yusuf bin Alawi bin Abdullah.
Larijani also criticized the policies of Israel in the occupied territories and said, “The Zionist regime has not paid attention to the logical demands of the oppressed Palestinian nation and is continuing constructing Zionist settlements.”
He emphasized that the only way before the Palestinians is resistance.
Elsewhere in his remarks, Larijani noted that Iran and Oman have friendly ties, adding, “Fortunately, the two countries have good relations in different political, parliamentary, cultural, and economic areas.”
Bin Abdullah, for his part, expressed satisfaction over the current level of relations between the two countries and said Iran is an important and powerful state in the region.
Iran plans to expand regional ties
Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad has stated that Iran will continue its policy of expanding relations with regional countries more strongly.
“Like the past and (even) with further strength the Islamic Republic of Iran will continue the strategic policy of expanding relations with neighboring and regional countries,” he said in a separate meeting with bin Abdullah.
Iran is ready to expand its relations with Oman and transfer its experiences in various fields to the country, he added.
The Omani official said with the re-election of Ahmadinejad in June 12 elections, the relations between the Islamic Republic and other regional countries will expand rapidly.
He also said, “Oman seeks expansion of cooperation and relations with the Islamic Republic of Iran in various fields.
