TEHRAN – Iranian Air Force and Defense Ministry are building the training Kosar jet fighter, the Air Force Commander announced on Wednesday.
“At present, we are building the Kosar training jet in cooperation with Defense Ministry and Aerial Industries,” Hassan Shah-Safi told reporters. He noted that Iran is now capable of producing its own ammunitions including air-to-air and air-to-ground missiles.
The commander said Iran’s capability in manufacturing military equipment significantly improved over the recent years.
Iranian bombers are able to fly over a distance of 3800 kilometers, he said.
He also said Iran will start war games in the future including a maneuver in the coming fall which will involve the Air Force.
On Israel’s threats against the country, he said that Iran has always been under threats but it has always been ready to face any threat.
Former U.S. ambassador to the UN John Bolton says Israel may launch a military attack on Iran to halt its nuclear program, Press TV reported.
In an interview with Fox News, when Bolton was asked if Israel is likely to take unilateral steps against Iran, he said, “I don't think Israel has really made a decision. But I think if you look at the history, Israel has not been afraid to take preemptive military action when it has seen an existential threat to... Israel.”
“It destroyed the Osirak reactor outside Baghdad in 1981. It destroyed a North Korean reactor in Syria in September in 2007,” he added.
“If anything, the threat posed by Iran's nuclear program is even graver,” Bolton noted.
Shah-Safi said the military forces are monitoring all moves and they are ready to carry any military operations
