TEHRAN -- The Farabi Cinematic Foundation (FCF) announced on Monday that an 8,000-euro cash prize will be added to the Moustapha Akkad award at the Fajr International Film Festival beginning this year.

The main organizer of the event, the FCF, has also renamed the award the Golden Flag (Beiraq Talaii) bearing “Al-risalah” (“The Message”), the title of Akkad’s film on the Holy Prophet Muhammad (S).
The Moustapha Akkad award was established in 2007 to honor documentary and feature-length films promoting faith and hope.
The 28th edition of the Fajr International Film Festival, Iran’s most prestigious event in the motion picture industry, will take place in Tehran from January 25 to February 4.
