Fajr festival to honor 3 Iranian cineastes

TEHRAN -- The Fajr International Film Festival will hold five commemoration ceremonies for five veteran cineastes.
Late director Amir Qavidel, sound recorder Es’hasq Khanzadi and cameraman Mohammad-Taqi Paksima will be among those commemorated at the festival.
The names of two other cineastes will be announced after plans are finalized.
The festival will be held from January 25 to February 4.
EMU professor to discuss visual communication at IAF
TEHRAN -- Two professors from Eastern Mediterranean University (EMU) will give presentations on visual communication at the Iranian Artists Forum (IAF) on January 16.
The head of EMU Department of Visual Art and Visual Communication Design Senih Çavusoglu and Professor Ümit Inatçi will present lectures at IAF.
They will also hold workshops entitled “Ex Libris” on January 17 and 18 at the venue.
12 foreign films to compete at Fajr festival
TEHRAN -- The Fajr International Film Festival announced the foreign film lineup for the International Competition Section.
“Kautokeino Rebellion” by Nils Gaup (Norway and Sweden), Kira Muratova’s “Melody for a Street Organ” (Ukraine), Karen Shakhnazarov’s “Ward No. 6”, “Mystery of Morphus” by Karola Hattop (Germany), Stephan Komandarev’s and “Welcome Aboard” by Philippe Lioret (France) are among the lineup..
