Leading articles:
‘MARDOMSALARI’ in its editorial underscores the importance of responding to the questions formed in the minds of the public. When no attempts is made to clear up ambiguities which have preoccupied the people’s minds, everyone in the society tries to find his/her own answer to the questions raised about the issues facing the country. Then people try to share their answers with each other via virtual social networks. The exchange of views through social networks inclines people to revise their first conception. Gradually people pick up convergent ideas on various issues. Peoples’ convergent beliefs and ideas form the public opinion which is manifested in the people’s behaviors, remarks, and actions. Then people see themselves as “we” and find such a power that nothing and no one can withstand them. In such a situation only those governments can get along which adopt policies that converge with people’s beliefs.
‘KAYHAN’ in an article argues that based on some “undeniable circumstantial evidence”, a certain political group who participated in the presidential election did not seek to win the election, but aimed to undermine the ruling system of the Islamic Republic regardless of the outcome of the election. The policies and approaches adopted by this group corresponded closely with those of foreign enemies.
‘RESALAT’ in its editorial has defended the executions of those convicted of moharebeh (being enemy of God) in the post-election unrest. The nation has called on the security and judiciary officials to take firm action against those who staged riots. The officials responded to these demands and hanged two persons convicted of moharebeh. This trend (of execution) should continue. The God’s order about moharebs (enemies of God) should be implemented. If the officials fail to carry out the sentences today, tomorrow is too late.
‘TEHRAN-E EMROOZ’ in its editorial has approved of the recent stances taken by reformist leaders. Mir-Hossein Mousavi and Mahdi Karroubi have taken relatively pacific stances which have made two groups bitterly angry: first, foreign-based anti-revolutionary groups; and second, extremist groups in the country. The fact that these groups are severely angry at the recent pacifying developments proves that reformist leaders have taken the right step. If Mousavi and Karroubi continue their conciliatory approach, hopefully, the issues facing the country will be resolved and in effect legal protesters and dissidents will be distinguished from each other. The magnitude and multitude of the new wave of attacks by extremists against reformist leaders shows the significance of their fresh embrace of the Islamic system’s values.
