The Women's Tennis Association (WTA) has extended its sponsorship agreement with Sony Ericsson by a further two years to the end of 2012, the WTA Tour said on Monday.

The mobile handset maker has been a sponsor of the women's tour since 2005 but from this year will not be the title sponsor at the end-of-season championship in Doha, and next year when the event is held in Istanbul.
