TEHRAN – Iranian artists took the first place at the 4th International Illumination and Miniature Festival of Algiers which ran from October 16 to 21.
The Iranian team of three received the top award in miniature, illumination and the flower and bird style of painting, award-winner Mostafa Aqamiri told Tehran Times on Tuesday.The selected Iranians are Mostafa Aqamiri, his brother Amir-Hushang Aqamiri, and Reza Badrossma.
Some eighty artists from Iran, Tunisia, France, India, Lebanon and other countries were participating in the event.
Aqamiri received a gold medal from the 4th Sharjah Biennial for the Art of Arabic Calligraphy in August 2010.
Students of Shanghai Theater Academy review Iranian films
TEHRAN -- The Shanghai Theater Academy president said that some Iranian films are reviewed by students of the academy as a part of their coursework.
The President of Shanghai Theater Academy Han Sheng told the Deputy Culture Minister for Cinematic Affairs Javad Shamaqdari during his visit to the academy.
Shamaqdari also proposed to hold an Iranian film week at the academy and to perform the Iranian passion play (Tazieh) as a traditional Persian performance by Iranian artists at the venue
