New director of Iran National Library appointed

TEHRAN -- Es’haq Salahi was appointed as the new director of the Iran National Library and Archives (INLA).
Salahi, a former official in the Ministry Of Welfare and Social Security for the subsidy reform plan, begin his activities as INLA director on Sunday morning.The former INLA director Ali-Akbar Ash’ari vacated his position in January 2011. He had not been appointed officially but occupied the post over the past year.
In an interview with Persian service of MNA, Ash’ari said that he had asked President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad to assign someone else several times and stressed that he did not have a political conflict with Ahmadinejad.
“However, I have not resigned from the position since I was not appointed to this job,” Ash’ari previously told MNA.
