6th Biennial Pottery Exhibition Opens in Tehran

TEHRAN The Sixth Biennial Pottery Exhibition was inaugurated here on Saturday. Some 453 pottery works produced by 167 contemporary Iranian potters are on display at the exhibition, which is being held at Tehran Contemporary Arts Museum. The works on display indicate a remarkable progress recently made in the field of pottery-making. During the inauguration ceremony, the best three potters were chosen by the jury, which comprised Mahin Nourmah, Shojaoddin Shahabi, Mohammad Mehdi Qanbeigi, Mohammad Mehdi Anoushfar and Taher Sheikholhokamaei. Bita Fayyazi Azad, Keivan Fahri and Lida Qodsinejad were the best potters who won the prizes of the exhibition.

The jury also awarded its special prize to Jeiran Fakhr, the youngest potter participating in the exhibition, for her beautiful pottery works.
