Guus Hiddink threatens to quit Turkey post in the wake of match-fixing scandal

National team coach Guus Hiddink has threatened to quit his post as Turkey tactician in the wake of the match-fixing scandal that has rocked the country in recent months.

Over 19 Turkish league games are under investigation and several players, coaches and club officials are believed to have played a role in a the incidents. The start of the 2011-12 campaign was recently postponed one month as inquiries continue.
Hiddink is shocked with the situation and has made it clear that he will not hesitate in stepping down if the national side is also part of the bribery scandal.
""If I find out that the national team is also involved in this scandal, I will quit. Football is one of the most important side issues and it's one of the biggest industries that provides a lot of jobs. There's no excuse to do these kinds of things,"" Hiddink was quoted as saying by De Volkskrant.
""I held a brief speech about the match-fixing scandal at the start of the training camp
[ahead of the match against Estonia]. Just to boost their morale a bit. I've told them that it's now up to them, the players of the national team, to show that Turkish football can be clean.""
Turkey are currently preparing for an international friendly against Estonia on Wednesday evening.
