Insurance to reach to 10 million slum residents

TEHRAN – The Iranian health minister says 10 million slum residents across the country will receive health insurance plans in the following 6 months.

There are 10 million people living in slums in Iran, Hassan Qazizadeh Hashemi said, adding that 1.2 million residents of slums and rural areas around the city of Mashhad have so far been given insurance plans.

The minister added that people younger than 14 are going to receive insurance plans for dental hygiene services, Salamat News reported on Saturday.

Hashemi added that so far 9 million Iranians have been provided with health insurance plans.
