TEHRAN – The Iranian Management and Planning Organization’s Director Mohammad Baqer Nobakht says a high-ranking Indonesian delegation will visit Tehran in the near future to discuss a contract for the construction of a refinery and a power plant by Iranians in the East Asian country.

Nobakht, who is also the spokesman for the Iranian government, made the remarks at a weekly press conference in Tehran on Tuesday.

He said the Indonesian team will visit Iran also to put a previous agreement into practice.

Last week, Nobakht held meetings with a number of senior Indonesian officials, including Indonesian Minister of Commerce Bambang Brodjonegoro, Coordinating Minister for the Economy Sofyan Djalil, and Minister of National Development Planning Andrinof Chaniago, on the sidelines of the United Nations Economic and Social Commission for Asia and the Pacific (ESCAP) in Indonesia.

He also expressed Tehran’s willingness to expand ties with Jakarta in the fields of infrastructure, export and import of products between the two countries, energy, construction of factories, refineries, and highways, and the tourism industry.
