TEHRAN -- Lawmakers from Iran and Ireland in a meeting in Tehran explore avenues for the strengthening of the two countries' relations.

Head of Iran-Ireland parliamentary friendship group Javad Heravi held a meeting with his Irish counterpart in Tehran on Monday, Tasnim reported.

Highlighting the numerous opportunities for cooperation in political, economic and cultural fields, Heravi stressed the need for the reopening of the Irish embassy in Tehran.

The Irish parliamentarian, for his part, called for immediate measures to bolster relations with Iran in political, trade and banking arenas.
