TEHRAN -- Italian jazz musicians Enzo Favata and Marcello Peghin will join the Iranian ensemble Adios to give jazz concerts at Tehran’s Eyvan-e Shams Hall on June 18 and 19.

They are also scheduled to perform a fusion of modern and traditional music during their concerts entitled “The Night of the Storytellers”.

Favata, one of the most reputable saxophone virtuosos in Italy, has played in over 2000 concerts around the world. His work includes a fusion of tradition and modern songs.

Guitarist Peghin deftly performs both classical and improvised music. He has performed with internationally acclaimed musicians such as Dino Saluzzi, Enrico Rava, Tony Scott, Lester Bowie and Sainko Namtchilak.

Adios features Soheil Shayestepur on violin, Reza Banainia on drums, Adib Qorbani on piano and Omid Shayestepur on bass guitar.

Earlier in 2014, the band performed a selection of compositions by Argentine composer Astor Piazzolla (1921–1992) at Tehran’s Rudaki Hall.
