Iran, Russian Muftis Council to team for Quran festival in Moscow

TEHRAN – Iran and the Russian Muftis Council (RMC) are scheduled to organize a joint international festival on Quran, which will be held in Moscow from July 11 to 17.
RMC First Deputy Director Rushan Abbyasov and Iran’s Cultural Attaché Reza Maleki attended a meeting in Moscow last Wednesday to announce the decision to hold the festival, the Persian service of IRNA reported on Friday.Abbyasov said that the festival, which will be held during the holy month of Ramadan, is the first of its kind in the Russian Muslim community.
“The festival will convey the real values of Islam and the Holy Quran,” he added.
According to Maleki, experts from Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, India and Tajikistan will be collaborating in this festival.
