TEHRAN -- Iraqi Cultural Attaché to Tehran Mozaffar al-Rubaie was captivated by photos of the holy shrine of Imam Ali (AS), the first Imam of the Shia, on display at Tehran’s Niavaran Cultural Center.

The photos taken by Iranian photographer Mohammad Khoshru depict the beauty of the shrine (located in the Iraqi city of Najaf), its architectural design, its entrance door, its windows and the tile works decorated with Persian calligraphy.

Al-Rubaie expressed happiness to see that an Iranian photographer has depicted the holy shrine of Imam Ali (AS) with its delicate appearance, the center announced in a press release on Wednesday.

He added that the first thing observed in this exhibit is the cultural commonalities of the two countries, and these commonalties help boost bilateral cultural ties.

He also said that last year a group of Iraqi photographers visited Iran’s cultural, religious and historical sites, and held exhibitions in Iraqi cities.

He also explained that in today’s world, pictures express more than words since photos convey the real meanings of events to viewers.

The exhibit, which opened on June 12 and will be running until July 3 in the Niavaran Cultural Center,is also scheduled to be showcased from July 6 to 22 at the Saba Art and Cultural Institute.
