TEHRAN -- The general director of Russia’s International Book Exhibitions and Fairs, Sergey Kaykin, has postponed his trip to Iran indefinitely, Iran Cultural Fairs Institute (ICFI) announced on Sunday.

He was scheduled to arrive in Tehran on Saturday to hold talks on Iran’s participation in the fair as the special guest.

“Unfortunately, our Russian friends have postponed the trip because of Mr. Kaykin’s busy schedule,” ICFI director Amir-Masud Shahramnia said in a press release.

“If the trip is cancelled completely, a group of Iranian cultural officials will most likely travel to Moscow to negotiate over the issue,” he added.

Kaykin was previously scheduled to visit Iran in May when the 28th Tehran International Book Fair was underway. However, Russia’s International Book Exhibitions and Fairs postponed the trip until July.
