TEHRAN - The Guardian Council has the final say over the qualification of electoral candidates, head of the Interior Ministry election headquarters says.
Mohammad Hossein Moqimi said while executive committees present their judgment of candidates, the Guardian Council is responsible for the final approval or rejection of candidates, Fars news agency reported on Wednesday.
He said the executive bodies that are responsible for holding elections should be completely impartial.
He also commented on boxes used for collecting ballots, saying arrangements have been made to use transparent boxes as part of efforts to ensure the authenticity of the votes.
