TEHRAN - A senior Iranian grand ayatollah has said the JCPOA (the Iran nuclear deal) has many strong points.

“There are many strong points to BARJAM (the Persian abbreviation for the JCPOA) and there may be weak points as well. But everyone has to focus on how to meet the weak points, and there are ways to do that,” Ayatollah Nasser Makarem Shirazi said Wednesday, the Entekhab news website reported.

The JCPOA is a victory and this should not be neglected, Makarem Shirazi said.

The ayatollah urged political factions in Iran to respect the deal and refrain from making biased judgments about it.
