2 missing after flood hits western Iran

TEHRAN - Two people are missing after flood hit three western provinces, the Red Crescent Society’s Rescue and Relief chief Nasser Charkhsaz said on Wednesday.
Following heavy rain which started on Tuesday afflicting the provinces of East Azerbaijan, Ilam, and Kurdistan, so far 31 people have been rescued from flood, the Mizan news agency quoted Charkhsaz as saying.He said six counties of Tasooj, Ivan Gharb, Mehran, Ilam, Malekshahi, and Sanandaj are affected by the flood.
So far two villages and two towns have suffered damages and unfortunately two people from Malekshahi and Balutestan counties are still missing, the official reported.
Charkhsaz added that the Red Crescent Society has dispatched twenty-nine members in nine rescue teams to the afflicted areas.
