National section of Ammar Popular Film Festival kicks off in Tehran

TEHRAN – The national section of the Sixth Ammar Popular Film Festival (APFF) opened in Tehran on Tuesday.

The festival was established to take a global view of cultural, socio-economic, environmental and political issues that may endanger peace, freedom and justice in the world.
The APFF has extended the deadline for submissions from foreign filmmakers to March 1, 2016. No date has been set for the international section as yet.

The festival is named after Ammar Yasir, a close companion of Prophet Muhammad (S).
