TEHRAN -- Supreme National Security Council Secretary Ali Larijani said here on Friday that Tehran has no preconditions for an as yet unscheduled second round of talks between Iran and the United States on security in Iraq.

“We are closely studying the first round of talks with the U.S.,” Larijani told reporters on the sidelines of a conference. The Iranian and U.S. ambassadors held talks about Iraq’s security situation in Baghdad on May 28. Iranian Foreign Minister Manuchehr Mottaki told reporters at a press conference on Thursday, “The Iraqi side is interested in holding a second round of talks, and we have put the issue on the agenda with a positive attitude.
