TEHRAN – Calligrapher Mohammad-Saeid Naqashian has held a calligraphic paintings workshop for over 3000 students at the Shohadaye-Enqelab Cultural Complex during the past two months.

The workshop, which has been set on the sidelines of an exhibition of calligraphy works by veteran calligraphers, was arranged to discover young talents, Naqashian said in a press release published on Wednesday.

“I had my doubts over agreeing to hold the workshop for students, since working with students who are not very familiar with calligraphy is a difficult task; however, I was surprised to see the students’ interests and their cooperation,” he added.

“If we help discover young talents in their early stages, art will be part of their life and help them decide for their futures,” he said.

He called these types of exhibits and workshops worthwhile artistic events in the country.

Over 110 works by 24 prominent artists and calligraphers including Nasrollah Afjei, Jalil Rasuli, Parviz Kalantari and Alireza Mohebi have been on display for two months.

The exhibit and workshop will continue until the last days of the Iranian calendar year at the complex located on Baharestan Square.
