TEHRAN – The organizers of the 14th International Festival of Students Puppet Theater plan to encourage participants to collect empty plastic and glass bottles of water and beverages this year in an eco-friendly program.

In this program, they have asked members of participating troupes to hand in an empty bottle in order to receive some subsidies during the event, the Tehran Academy of Art, which is the main organizer of the festival, announced on Sunday.

The academy called the decision a new movement to protect the environment.

Puppeteers from around the world will come together in Tehran from May 27 to June 2 to perform a vast variety of plays.
