Iranian Foreign Minister Ali Akbar Salehi on Sunday answered lawmakers’ questions on why Saudi Arabian police officers mistreat Iranian pilgrims. MPs Ali Motahari and Ali Adyani Radsari questioned Salehi on such behaviors. Reports on Saudi policemen’s mistreatment of Shia pilgrims, particularly Iranians, increased in 2007 when police started fingerprinting Iranian citizens who entered the country for the Hajj rituals.
