Featuring photos taken between the years 1838 to 1970, the selection opens a window to new vistas for the photos, executive secretary of the exhibit Hassan Aqaii said in a press conference held at TMCA on Sunday.
Works by British photographers William Henry Fox Talbot and Julia Margaret Cameron, German August Sander, as well as American Alfred Stieglitz and Ansel Easton Adams are among the photos on show, secretary of the exhibit Afshin Shahrudi said.
“A collection of instruments related to photography by veteran Mohammad Jadidoleslam is also on show on the side section to familiarize visitors with the process of art of photography and its technology,” Shahrudi added.
“All the photos were gradually collected before the Islamic Revolution in 1979 and were displayed once before in an exhibition named ‘Inner Eye’”, he added.
The entire treasure contains 300 photos including portraits of the artists and photographers out of which 116, excluding the portraits, are on display until October 13, Shahrudi added.
The museum is located on North Kargar St., next to Laleh Park.
