There are 400,000 heroin addicts in Iran: police chief

altTEHRAN – Police Commander Ismail Ahmadimoqadam announced on Wednesday that there are 400,000 heroin addicts in Iran and there are no rehabilitation centers for them. Ahmadimoqadam also said police have indentified 1,200,000 people addicted to opium. 

Commenting on social security, he said the social security situation in the country has improved significantly compared to other regional states. Iran is the main victim of drugs produced in Afghanistan.
