TEHRAN - Iran’s Reza Zamaninejad claimed a gold medal in the men’s individual compound of 17th Asian Archery Championship, which is underway in Tehran, Iran.

Zamaninejad won the gold medal, beating his Malaysian rival 146-133 on Saturday. 

“I am so happy because I worked hard to get the medal. My Korean rival in the semi-final was strong but I could defeat him. I had no problem in the final game against my Malaysian opponent,” Zamaninejad said. 

Iran’s compound men’s team had claimed the gold medal on Friday. 

The 17th Asian Archery Championships started on October 18 and will finish on October 24.

The Asian Archery Championship has brought 22 countries together.
