TEHRAN -- Arsalan Qorbani, Iran’s deputy minister of science, research and technology for international affairs, met with University of New South Wales Vice-Chancellor Jennifer Suzanne Lang in Tehran on Monday.

 

The expansion of cultural relations and academic cooperation were discussed during the meeting, the Persian service of IRNA reported on Tuesday.

 

In addition, they also talked about exchanging students and academics between the universities of the two countries and holding international workshops and seminars.

 

Qorbani said that Iran is ready to dispatch Persian-speaking academics to Australia and added that the Science Ministry is also ready to establish Islamic studies centers at Australian universities.

 

Ms. Lang said that Australian universities are interested in signing academic agreements with Iranian universities and add that she hoped the programs discussed at her meetings in Tehran come to fruition soon.
