TEHRAN - UN High Commissioner for Refugees Filippo Grandi said on Saturday that Iran has spent a lot on health and education of the refugees and is exemplary in this respect.

During a meeting with Iranian Foreign Minister Mohamamd Javad Zarif in Tehran, Grandi praised Iran’s efforts in improving the refugees’ condition of life.

He expressed hope that Iran would receive more international help for the refugees.

Zarif called for more investment in Afghanistan to provide the grounds for Afghan refugees in Iran to return to their country.

He said that Iran has hosted refugees for over three decades, but has received little international help.

He also said that Iran has spent a lot on the refugees’ education.

Zarif urged UN High Commissioner to make more efforts in increasing economic projects and investment in Afghanistan.
