TEHRAN - Ayatollah Akbar Hashemi Rafsanjani, chairman of the Expediency Council, said on Sunday that the knowledge-based corporations should be empowered.

During a meeting with presiding board of the University of Applied Sciences and Technology, Rafsanjani said the cornerstone of the 20-year vision plan is based on science and technology.

Pointing to scientific and industrial development of certain countries such as Germany and Japan, he said this issue should be given due attention.
