TEHRAN – Iranian director Behzad Gharibpur is preparing his puppet theater group Aran to stage his latest opera puppet show on Persian poet Sadi at the 16th Mobarak International Puppet Theater Festival, which will be held in Tehran from August 22 to 28.

The prominent Iranian vocalist Mohammad Motamedi will loan his voice to the Sadi character in the opera puppet show.

Gharibpur has previously staged opera puppet shows on Hafez, Rumi and Khayyam in Iran and at a number of international events.
