Iran’s SEO, Germany’s BaFin sign MOU

TEHRAN - The visiting Head of Iran's Securities and Exchange Organization (SEO), Shapour Mohammadi, and the president of German Federal Financial Supervisory Authority (BaFin), Felix Hufeld, inked a memorandum of understanding (MOU) on boosting cooperation, IRIB news reported on September 7.

During this meeting, both sides expressed tendency towards further collaboration especially in capital market and hoped that the penned MOU with Germany, as a member of the EU, would pave the path for cooperation of Iranian capital market with the European ones.
They also agreed on formation of a joint working group to investigate further possible areas for cooperation as well as easing the implementation of the signed MOU.
As reported, Mohammadi headed an Iranian delegation comprised of senior officials of Iranian capital market to Germany.
BaFin is the financial regulatory authority for Germany. It is an independent federal institution with headquarters in Bonn and Frankfurt and falls under the supervision of the Federal Ministry of Finance. It supervises about 2,700 banks, 800 financial services institutions and over 700 insurance undertakings.
