Iranian ambassador meets Vietnamese president
TEHRAN – Iranian Ambassador to Hanoi Saleh Adibi met with Vietnamese President Tran Dai Quang on Tuesday.
Adibi expressed hope that relations between the two countries would be expanded after President Hassan Rouhani’s trip to Vietnam.
Rouhani is scheduled to leave Tehran for Hanoi on Wednesday.
Quang said that Vietnam is ready to expand ties with Iran.
A Vietnamese parliamentary delegation visited Iran in August.
According to Fars news agency, Iranian Deputy Foreign Minister Ebrahim Rahimpour and his Vietnamese counterpart Vu Hong Nam in a meeting in Hanoi on Tuesday discussed bilateral ties and regional developments.
During the meeting, Rahimpour and Vu Hong explored avenues for reinvigorating mutual cooperation in different areas.
The two sides voiced their willingness to hold the ninth meeting of the Iran-Vietnam joint economic commission in Tehran in the near future.
