Iranian director Ebrahim Hatamikia planning project on Syrian war

TEHRAN – Iranian director Ebrahim Hatamikia who is mostly renowned for his movies on the 1980-1988 Iran-Iraq war and its repercussions is planning his new project on the Syrian civil war.

Hatamikia and producer Mohammad Khazaei are currently in Syria to prepare the usual preliminaries to launch the project, the Persian service of FNA reported on Saturday.

They also plan to hire some Syrian actors for the cast of the film, whose title has not been revealed yet.

Hadi Hejazifar, the star of the acclaimed Iranian dramas “Standing in the Dust” and “The Midday Event”, will play a leading role in the project.

In addition, cinematographer Mahmud Kalari is scheduled to collaborate in the project, parts of which will be filmed on location in Syria.
