TEHRAN – Father of Iran’s boxing Hassan Basht Bavi passed away at the age of 92 on Tuesday.

He was appointed as Iran boxing coach in 1958 and under guidance of Basht Bavi, Iran became runners-up at the 1974 Asian Games.

A boxing hall was named after Basht Bavi in Gachsaran, Khuzestan province.

He will be laid to rest on Wednesday.
