122 arrested in Tehran province for disrupting economy

TEHRAN – Secretary of the commission to combat smuggling of goods and foreign currency in Tehran Province said on Saturday that 122 people have been arrested since the start of the Iranian calendar year (starting March 21) for disrupting the commodity market and currency value in Tehran.

Vali Pour-Ahmadnejad said the offenders have been handed to relevant judicial bodies, Pana news agency reported.

He also said during this time 148,000 fake dollars were confiscated which led the police to discover millions more of fake dollars before being sold at the market.
