TEHRAN – Iranian lawmakers have issued a statement demanding the government to reduce the level of cooperation with the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) due to doubts about the determination of European countries to salvage the 2015 nuclear deal after the U.S. pullout from the multilateral agreement.
The statement, signed by 160 parliamentarians, was addressed to President Hassan Rouhani, the Mehr news agency quoted MP Alireza Rahimi as saying. Rahimi also said the number of lawmakers backing the statement is increasing.
The statement urged the government to secure the rights of the Iranian nation in this regard.
