TEHRAN – Saeid Nejati, the Iranian director of the acclaimed short film “It Rains Slowly”, has been selected as a member of the jury for the fiction category at the 19th Izmir International Short Film Festival.

The Romania-based Italian art director Massimiliano Nardulli will preside over the jury of the section, which also includes Romanian actress Ana Ularu, Bulgarian producer Tsanko Vasilev and Turkish composer Batu Sener.

“Gray Umbrella” directed by Mohammad Pustinduz and “Return” by Shahriar Purseyyedian, both from Iran, will compete in the fiction category of the festival, which will be held in the Turkish city from October 30 until November 4.

Nejati made his latest movie “It Rains Slowly” in Turkey. The film is about a teacher who teaches his students what freedom is and how to resist injustice just before the 1980 coup d’état in Turkey.
