Khatami Congratulates Chinese, Nigerian Counterparts

TEHRAN -- President Mohammad Khatami sent separate messages to presidents of People's Republic of China and Nigeria on Saturday, congratulating the national days of the two countries.
In a message to his Chinese counterpart, Jiang Zemin, the president expressed hope that Tehran-Beijing cordial relations will further enhance within the framework of mutual interests in the near future.
In another message to Nigerian President Olusegun Obasanjo, the president congratulated him on the occasion of the country's National Day (October 1).
The president, in the message, expressed hope that bilateral cooperation between the two states will further expand.
