Arafat Makes Unscheduled Visit to India

NEW DELHI Palestinian leader Yassir Arafat held talks with Indian Prime Minister Atal Behari Vajpayee during an unscheduled visit to New Delhi, reports said Saturday.
Arafat, who arrived Friday from Bangladesh, briefed Vajpayee on developments in the Middle East peace process. The two leaders exchanged views on regional, international issues, the Asian Age newspaper reported. Arafat was leaving for home Saturday after a 12-hour stay.
The trip to New Delhi comes in the last leg of his international tour during which he visited Japan, Indonesia, Pakistan and a number of other countries. (DPA)
