SEATTLE/CALGARY The heart-wrenching case of a disabled boy who was abandoned in a Calgary, Alberta supermarket took a surprising turn Friday when his mother was identified as a U.S. citizen.
Calgary police announced that the four-year-old's mother is Suzanna McCarty of Port Angeles, a port in the U.S. State of Washington just across the water from the Canadian Province of British Columbia. U.S. authorities are now looking for the 46-year-old woman, who apparently brought the boy to Calgary and then left him there. No charges would be pressed if the mother comes forward voluntarily, investigators said.
